Track Descriptions.

West Kennet

Tight twisty circuit on clay base with flints, good use made of small banking and enclosed area. Some quite technical jumps (a lot of table tops), has had a couple hundred tonne of wood chip mixed in and is said to run the best ever now; fun to ride. The start is at the far side of the track accessed by a single bike lane and so is not so good for spectators to view but there is a good viewing area that goes halfway into the track.

Good level grass field pit area accessed up a long farm lane from the main road.

Foxhills

Infamous for its MX history in holding world championship motocross events and now host to the Maxxis British championship.

Set in a picturesque chalk valley above the M4 motorway, Foxhills hosts some of British MX's steepest hills as the track climbs and descends numerous times through the valley. With the added attraction of some man made jumps in the bottom of the valley and a unique set of whoops on a bend it is a 'Must ride' track.

Flat Grass pit area.

Foxholes

Another chalk/clay mix of soil for this Race only track. Popular with many clubs across the south of England it's always well watered in the dusty season and rideable in the wet too. Dries very quickly to become super tacky but beware of the flints!

Another track designed by Bryan Cowshall taking in the natural lie of the land with the addition of some technical jumps that are designed to be safe for all abilities.

Level parking on grass, with good access road into site.

Bere Regis

An underlying chalk base provides some interesting conditions but with newly added sand soil mix in places creating a nice range of conditions. Does tend to eat up tyres, so don’t go there with new ones on.

Parking on grass with good access road up to entrance, can sometimes get a little muddy getting in.

Cusses Gorse

Situated in a grassy valley, predominantly a practice track, but does host club and major meets such as the DEP. Open most weekends subject to good weather.

The course swops from side to side of the valley with man made jumps ranging from mild ski type to large expert level tabletops. Always immaculately prepped.

Brookthorpe

Lying just outside the village itself and not far off the M5 this hillside track offers great spectating and riding alike. Soil is very pliable after water and the natural terrain is set off with some additional jumps built in. Ruts up nicely and gets quite rough if conditions allow.

Whiteway Barton

Host to the Patchquick Trophy and Remedies Bar series this superb hillside circuit has possibly the longest climb in the South West and of course what goes up must come down!!! Track has a classic feel about it with the use of the natural terrain to provide some spectacular jumps, typical red soil for the area and a small amount of rock.

Long steep rocky track into hilly grass pits, expect to get stuck in the wet!

Whitings Water

Grassy circuit situated on top of a hill with the track going over the side. Used for donkeys years and now has the addition of some man made jumps, bottom part of the track can get a bit boggy in places in the winter.

Parking on flat grass with facilities laid on by club.

Little Silver

Used frequently by the Remedies Bar series this red soiled hillside circuit can be seen from the M5. Recent changes have been made with some voicing concern over certain jumps, but a great track with some steep hills and off cambers. Gets very claggy in the wet but dries very quickly.

Good roadway into hillside grass pit area. Great for spectating as whole track can be seen from pits.

Marshfield

One of the toughest tracks in the South West area, this is a real technical circuit. It’s not one of the fastest tracks to race but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to ride. Laid out on the one side of a steep valley the rich, dark dirt has a fair amount of clay content and that means it holds up well to racing and generates plenty of lines for the riders. Down the years Marshfield has been tweaked and now there’s a subtle mix of jumps, drops offs and turns that make line selection critical. It’s a track that you have to ride smoothly as simply ‘hanging it out’ will soon find you making mistakes.

Landrake

Just over the Tamar bridge into Cornwall the Landrake circuit is another track that’s pleasing on the eye. Nestled in a valley that winds its way down into some woods this circuit is a pleasant mix of traditional style motocross track mixed with the needs of a modern day racing. There are a few jumps but not too many and there are some nice sweeping bends and the occasional off-cambered turns to give the kids of today a little taster of what ‘scrambling’ used to be like! The dirt is soil based with a littering of small shale like stones.
