Ty Kellett Charity Meeting For Headway 31st May 2010

South Somerset put on a charity meeting in aid of Ty Kellett’s chosen charity – Headway.
After Ty’s horrific injuries at the Weston Super Mare beach race, this meeting was run to raise money for Headway, which is a brain injuries charity.
The meeting was run at the fabulous Pontrilas circuit and the support for Ty and his family was shown by the great turn-out of riders.
First out on the track were the Open class, which was dominated by Adam Cook with three classy wins. Micheal Deeley was second overall with three great rides, followed by Tom Crittienden in third.

The AMX took to the track and there was some great racing with three different race winners. Luke Heaver took the overall , backing up his race win with two solid rides. Second went to Ben Pearson with Patrick Collins in third, both riding consistently throughout the day.

The Rookie class was packed with great riders and the racing was awesome. Ryan Williams emerged victorious with three consistent rides. Dan Thornhill was runner up, level on points but missed out on the place due to the last race decider. Third came Kayne Lamont and after a first race mishap, he blitzed the field in races two and three, treating the crowd to an awesome display. Ty himself treated everybody to his usual all action display with great surges through the field and big whips over the table top. Great to see you back Ty !....

The Big Wheels 85 group was the battle of the four strokes at the front, with Liam Garland taking all three race wins. He was followed home twice by Curtis Blamey and third was Scott Wintersgill with a good three race scorecard.

The Small Wheel s took to the track and it was Ty’s brother Todd who took the first race win, but had to play second fiddle to Danny Lanfear in the other two races. Danny took the overall, with Todd in second. Oliver McMurray was third with two thirds and a fifth.

The Junior group was won with a maximum by Nathan Bache, followed home in second by the ever consistent Bradley Flagg. Third went to Owen Woodhouse with three top three finishes.

The Autos finished the racing off on a slightly shortened track, with all giving 100%. Louis Townsend took the win, with two wins and a second. Dominic Lancett was second with a win and two seconds, followed in third each time by Declan Roden.

A big thank you to Roy and Paddy from the MCF, for all their help at the meeting and for the Transponders. Thank you also to Ray from Actionsport for donating a percentage of his photography sales.
The Kellett family presented a trophy for their rider of the day, which was chosen by Ty, Ty’s trainer and uncle. They picked Junior rider, Casey Williams.
All in all a fantastic day for a fantastic cause – Thank you to everyone involved in making this a special day to remember for Ty, Todd, Carol and Nibs x.
