Elite Youth Cup

South Somerset moved south for round 6 of their Club Championship to a new venue at Morleigh and all those that made the journey were greeted by a fantastic circuit.
With the sprinkler system turned on, the track rode really well, but due to the fantastic summer we are having it did become a little dusty in the last block, even so all three blocks were completed successfully.

First out were the Open class and the AMX, which were scored separately. In the Open Class, Eddy Carr emerged on top with a second and two wins. Second place went to Tom Salt with three consistent rides and third was Phillip Hoddinott. Leighton Holmes was unlucky with a first and second and a mechanical DNF.

In the AMX, Darren Banwell showed everyone a clean pair of heels with a classy maximum. Kristian Barry had a good day in second overall and Ben Puddy a very creditable third.

In the Rookies, Liam Brown rode superbly all day and was never really troubled as he secured three great race wins. Henry Griffin was second with three good results and Kye Williams a very good third.

In the Big Wheels 85s it was Luke Sturgeon who took the honours with a first, second and third. Jarred Perkins had a great day in second and Joe Phillips a consistent third overall.

In the Small Wheel 85s Jack Perkins went one better than his older brother taking the first overall with three wins. Callum Warren rode really well for second and Bradley Rowe completed the line up with a good third.

Next up were the Juniors, and in race one Lucy Calvert took her first ever race win with a superb ride. Lucy had to settle for second overall after two more great battles with Callum Gordon, in which Callum took both wins with Lucy close behind. Jack Keating had three thirds to achieve the third overall.

Last out were the Autos, and all rode very well to master this demanding track. James Rowe was very fast all day and took three wins. Joe Garlick rode great to finish second and Alfie Calvert had his best meeting to date to finish a brilliant third.
