South Somerset

MCF Club Championship
Elite Youth League

South Somerset moved North up the M5 for round 5 of their Club Championship to the magnificent Brookthorpe circuit.
Those who made the journey were greeted by glorious sunshine and a superbly prepared track.
First out were the Open class and the AMX. In the Open Class, Eddy Carr rode consistently with a last race win and two seconds, securing the overall. Steven Collins had won the first two races, but a third race eighth dropped him to second and Aaron Bruce was third with three good rides.

In the AMX, Rich Williams emerged victorious after two wins and a second place. Ash Newton improved as the day progressed t finish second and with the over race win Daniel Brough was third.

Next to the gate were the Rookies, and this group was dominated by the Alsop Brothers. Zac taking the overall with a win and two runner up spots and Jake was second with a fourth and two wins. Tommy Alba completed the top three with three great rides on his screaming Two Stroke.

The Big Wheels 85 group were as competitive as ever with Harry Sherman coming out on top with a win and two seconds. Josh Ebbutt rode very well all day to secure second, just ahead of Olly Jones in third. Curtis Blamey was unlucky with a mechanical DNF in race one followed by two great wins.

The Small Wheel 85 group was smaller than usual but the racing was a joy to watch with all the top three riders taking a win a piece. Tyron Cleaver emerged the winner, closely followed by the improving Henry Ebbutt and Luke Williams in third after suffering a puncture in race two whilst leading.

The Junior group was again dominated by Bradley Flagg with three race win, second went to Alex Lancett with three top three finishes and Lucy Calvert flying the girls flag in a very strong third.

The autos rode a shortened track and Dominic Lancett rode superbly to win all three races followed in second in each race by Louis Townsend. Third in each race was Declan Roden.
Another great event run by the South Somerset Committee. All club members wish Regan Brown and Dan Wheelen a speedy recovery after their spills at the weekend.
